This is my 10th year of teaching at Tri-Valley High School and my 19th year of teaching overall. I did not start my professional career in education. I went to Ohio University for both my B.S. and M.S. degrees in cell biology. I then worked for 4 years at Children's Hospital Research Institute as a research assistant. I helped conduct research experiments on pediatric tissues. The results of our experiments were submitted to the Children's Cancer Group for use in determining treatments of different pediatric cancers.
I then decided to change direction and teach high school life science. I attended Muskingum University for my education coursework while teaching at West Muskingum High School. The specific courses that I teach are Biology and Human Anatomy & Physiology.
Teaching is my passion!
