Thank You

Thank you parents for sharing your kids with us this past school year.  We enjoyed getting to know each and every one of them, along with the unique gifts and talents they were blessed with.  Have a great, safe summer!  Good luck to our 8th graders as they begin high school in the fall and welcome to our incoming 7th graders!  We can't wait to get to know you.  Our first day of school is Thursday, August 21st.

TVMS Reading Lists

The Middle School English Department has met several times over the past year.  They have chosen a list of novels for our incoming, 2014-2015, 7th and 8th grade students.  These books will enhance classroom learning for each of our students.  You may click on the 7th grade link or the 8th grade link for a complete listing.  We can't wait to get started on these great, classic novels!

DC Pictures

DC Pictures have arrived!  If your 8th grade student did not bring home a group picture on the last day of school, taken in front of the Capital Building, stop by the office to pick one up.  There is no cost for this picture.  Be sure to take home this reminder today.

Advertising Winners

7th Grade English students, of Miss Burris, recently completed an advertising project.  Students were challenged to create a business card, postcard design and advertisement for Ditto Boutique in Dresden.  The winning business card designs were created by:  Faith Reeves, Dustin Dilts and Sayge Collopy.  The winning postcard design came from:  Wyatt Riggle.  The top advertising award went to:  Hannah Worthington.  Great job to these creative students!  Also, a special thanks to Tracey Tripp for allowing students to put their writing and technology skills to work for a real world project.  The winning designs will be used for advertising for Ditto!

The National Federation of High School's National Award of Excellence is awarded each year to an outstanding student who has displayed exemplary sportsmanship, ethics and integrity.  This award is presented to the student whom has exhibited qualities that embody good citizenship, good moral character and good sporting behavior.  This year's NFHS National Award of Excellence winner is Alyssa Shawger.  Congratulations Alyssa!

Archie Griffin Award Winners

TVMS recently awarded the OHSAA's prestigious Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award to one male and one female athlete.  The award, named for the two-time Heisman Trophy winner, is awarded to outstanding athletes that promote sportsmanship in their school and community.  These students are excellent role models to their fellow students in displaying sportsmanship and integrity both on the field and in the classroom.  We are pleased to announce Greg Nolder and Emily Untied as our recipients this year.  Great job Greg and Emily!!!
